Neighbors for a Better McHenry County PAC is a political action committee organized and run by McHenry County residents who believe our county government can — and should — do better.
We are not a front for a national organization. We are not funded by outside interests pursuing their own agenda. We are your neighbors: parents, workers, small business owners, retirees, and longtime community members who looked at the state of McHenry County government and decided to do something about it.
We came together around three convictions. First, that McHenry County voters deserve a County Board that governs transparently and makes decisions based on the long-term interests of our community. Second, that the gap between what McHenry County voters want and what they've been getting is a problem that can be solved with the right candidates in the right races. Third, that local elections — which most people pay little attention to — are where some of the most consequential decisions about our daily lives get made.

We don't believe in spreading resources thin and hoping for the best. We believe in careful analysis, strategic targeting, and making every dollar count.
We have identified a targeted set of County Board races for investment in 2026. Our precinct-level analysis tells us exactly where Democratic-leaning voters are showing up for presidential candidates but not for county board candidates — and where a relatively small number of additional votes can make the difference between the status quo and a better County Board. We are focused on those races and those voters.
Our vision for 2028 is a full county-wide effort — including a credible run for County Board President. That kind of sustained, organized political action is how you change a county.
What guides us
We believe in honest government — leaders who tell the truth even when it's uncomfortable. We believe in responsible stewardship of public funds, public services, and the public trust. We believe in community — in the idea that McHenry County is a place worth fighting for.
We are registered as a political action committee with the Illinois State Board of Elections and comply fully with Illinois campaign finance law.
